Rome TW has been a favorite game of mine, not just in RTS but in general.
I did some graphic skin mods for Homeworld 2 with the Point Defense people like 4 years ago, but school kicked in and new games were being churned out like license plates at a prison so i lost interest, also that was when i got into WoW so uh...yeah.
I will def dl this mod sir

I personally prefer Medieval II, but either of the two is a very valid contender for the best TW game.

You guys should try Rome total realism. It's a sweet mod and has held me enthralled for about 2 years. It makes the game alot bigger and more historically accurate

Let me know how you like it, FS.
Franz: I love RTR. This mod actually is RTR heavily updated with additional tweaks by me and other to make it even better (especially unit balancing and costs). I'm actually part of the current RTR team now, helping with unit balancing. Have you tried the most recent RTR releases: The Iberian Campaign and Fate of Empires?

Wow! Hats off to you Enoch! I haven't tried the most recent. The Iberian Campaign didn't catch my interest because I really got hooked to the Broad map of RTR Platinum. I haven't heard much about Fate of Empires. Care to give me the low down, Mr. in-on-the-most-awesome-mod-ever?

Thanks! FOE is a much bigger map, but still nowhere near the full campaign map used in RTRPE (and therefore in my mod).
Basically, FOE is an extremely detailed look at the Second Punic War era. It's quite impressive, like TIC but with less scripting and a much larger scope (the map has Iberia, North Africa, southern Gaul, Dalmatia, Epirus, and down to Cyrene or so as the SE corner). Because of the more limited scope, they can be much more detailed in their map and regional unit offerings.
My mod, OTOH, is RTRPE with all kinds of add-ons and optimizations. If you like RTRPE, you'll almost certainly like mine. Check the documentation, though. The AI is much tougher, and the Roman Cursus Honorum system can be difficult to get used to.

Sounds awesome! Would you care to link me to a download of your mod So I can play it into the ground? If it's a optimized RTRPE I will love it forever! What does this Roman Cursus Honorum system entail?

I think you'll really like it, then. Here's the info thread: www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=179726Definitely check the documentation out, too. Here's the download thread: www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=179715The Cursus Honorum system basically lets you roleplay the training and political rise of your Roman characters. It's kind of complicated, so I recommend checking the documentation on it. They start out as students, then spend time as tribunes, legates, praetors, and, if they're lucky, consuls.

well, the installer didn't work for me. (I'm running Vista 64-bit) so I tried doing it manually. I got the different start screen, however the campaign is the same as RTRPTE . I had PTE installed when I installed the mod.
Any suggestions?

Ok I haven't noticed the BI file.
I have the three Disc version of RTW if that makes a difference. Anyhow, would it be easiest if I just uninstalled the whole thing and start from scratch?

Three disk? Is that Rome, BI, and Alex?
Possibly, yes. If you do, I recommend copying the whole installation once you've got it installed so you have a backup clean copy. Then try following the Vista installation instructions and just doing the manual installation.

Quick update for you: BladeRunner900's installer is now for the full version of the game, so you won't need to do any manual patching of the installation at all if you can get the installer to work.

Ok, so I fought with it and the installer went off without a problem, then I changed the text in the icons properties to" -show_err -nm -mod:ExRM" I go to run the game and then it says it's missing archer skeleton something or another.
Any idea how I screwed up this time?

I'm not sure, but the last time one of my users ran into that it was an installation bug. My guess is that Vista is screwing with the installer.
My recommendation: 1) Don't delete that shortcut. In fact, make a backup copy of it with a slightly different name. 2) Open up your ExRM directory and delete all the contents. 3) Run the installer, but point it to a special directory you create on your desktop or somewhere. 4) Copy everything below the ExRM in the hierarchy inside that folder to the ExRM folder in the game directory 5) Delete any shortcut the installer creates and replace it with the one from step 1.
