Just tossing this out there to see who might also be playing STO. I've been putting around in there since the game went free 2 play (about 2 years ago). And I've had a pretty fun ole time, especially since, unlike that other F2P MMO that we tried to get people into ages back (Ace Cowboy or some such, now Ace Combat Online (no not related to the /good/ Ace Combat)) you don't hit a wall where your level progression stalls to about a meter behind "total standstill". On the contrary, you can easily get a newbie character up to max (level 50 at present) in less than a month without having to spend every waking hour to grind up the levels. And some of my peeps in game have taken a new alt from 0 to 50 in a week of decent grinding. here's the thing though, unlike The Old Republic, or really most of the other F2PMMOs Ive tried out, there's no locking of playable content from non-subscribers (the only locked place at present is a social area where I guess they sip champagne and laugh over how plebeian all of the free players act.) And I've managed to take down other captains who are "wallet warriors" (people that spend dozens if not hundreds of dollars to unlock the extra special ships, usually with gear that provides a bit of an advantage) without ever having spent a single dime on the game. Add in the fact that there's a way to buy the special currency (Zen) in game (albeit from other players) and you can conceivably get whatever you want with a bit of patience. It's how I got every "C-Store" item that I have now. So, anyone play that is looking for a fleet? Or perhaps I've managed to pique someone's interest enough to take a looksee? Well, if so just send me a message in game. My account name (AKA handle) is @jeremydaniels, and the fleet I roll with is always looking for more loyal, fun loving, and crazy-ass people. And let's face it, that's pretty much in line with the CDFs modus operandi anyway. Also, you can be a klingon (or other race that is allied with the Klingons) or a Romulan in game too. So if you're not wanting to be Federation, (or not just Federation only) you have some options open too. And you do get 3 free slots out of the gate (one for each faction.)

It's a great game indeed- and while I haven't played it for a while, I'd be more than willing to pick it back up if I can find enough ppl to play with again. I'm actually part of a game guild called "Game Grinders", and they have an STO fleet (the 4th Fleet). The only problem is very few of the guild members play STO anymore... I *HIGHLY* recommend joining GameGrinders and the 4th Fleet if you're looking for a good group to play with. A few of their senior staff still log in now and again. I'm actually a Master Chief Petty Officer (more than a bit above the entry-level) there myself- in large part due to my veterancy in the guild from playing Battlestar Galactica Online with them all and proving myself a valuable pilot. Go over to the GameGrinders website if I've piqued your interest at all: www.gamegrinders.org/I'd love to see some of you guys join me in the 4th Fleet- like I said, I'd be glad to pick up STO again if I could find a core of decent people to play semi-regularly with again. Regards, Northstar
